Behind the camera

I’m Monika; a wife, dual citizen (Canadian by birth, American by choice), miniature schnauzer owner, hockey lover, and wedding videographer! I am currently based out of Forest, Virginia. My main areas of coverage include the Central Virginia area, from Washington, D.C. and down to North Carolina. I LOVE to travel though, and have filmed weddings in Florida, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts!

My passion for wedding videography grew as I planned my own wedding and spent hours organizing the logistics for the most meaningful day of my life! In university I spent four years learning the fundamentals of shooting, editing, and sound design. Once I graduated, I knew I wanted to pursue a filmmaking career. I have spent time in front of the camera on live television covering sports, news, and entertainment. I love producing, editing, and shooting, and I feel like all of my favorite things are rolled into one crucial role on a wedding day - to me that is pretty exciting!

I understand the happiness you are feeling but I also relate to how overwhelming everything can be. There are so many details to take care of and I want “hiring a videographer” to be the easiest thing you check off on your to-do list.

If you are lucky enough to be able to watch your parents wedding video then chances are there are a lot of grainy clips, the audio is muffled, and the clips are drawn out. And I bet you still enjoyed being able to witness their happiness and love documented, didn’t you?

I view wedding videography as a gift not only to you and your spouse, but also to your out of town relatives who can’t attend the wedding, and your future children who will want to see their parents wedding day. It is no longer just a way to document the day, but a way to creatively commemorate the emotion and memories you share with your spouse and cherished loved ones!
